A lot has changed for Baton Rouge spitter Kevin Gates in the past year, as he went from relatively unknown status to becoming an XXL Freshman and touring nationwide. Though he has no doubt enjoyed the success, he still remembers where he was before it all, as is evidenced in the new clip for By Any Means cut "Wish I Had It."
Beginning with the disclaimer "One year ago...", the video has Gates surveying his decrepit surroundings and pining for something better. Fortunately, we're shown the happy ending, with Gates rocking a crowd who are all singing along to "Wish I Had It." Hustling pays off.
