Fat Joe says his biggest regret is never signing Eminem to Terror Squad.

Eminem chronicled the first chapter of his rags-to-riches tale in the 2002 movie 8 Mile. The movie didn't get as far as the period when he was shopping around his demo tape in hopes of getting a record deal. One such recipient of an early Eminem demo was Terror Squad don Fat Joe. In a new interview, Joe revealed he passed on Eminem not once, but six times.

“Man I got so many regrets,” Joe told the South China Morning Post, reflecting on his illustrious career. “The biggest is that Eminem gave me so many demos – six different times he approached me and I didn’t sign him. Shame on me.”

Eminem released Infinite in 1996 and Slim Shady EP in 1997. He signed to Interscope in 1998 at the age of 25 after giving his tape to tape to Interscope CEO Jimmy Iovine, who passed it along to Dr. Dre. The rest was history.
