Yesterday we reported that Drake will host the 2014 ESPYs for ESPN come July. The news came with some Nothing Was The Same-inspired ESPYs art, but that was about it.
Now Drizzy has visited ESPN and spoke about his upcoming hosting duties. He says hosting Saturday Night Live gave him the confidence to host the ESPYs, and also references Jamie Foxx, who was a past host of the event, as an inspiration.
"It's been a dream of mine for a long time," Drake says concerning the annual sports awards. "I watched a guy that I look up to in every aspect of life, Jamie Foxx, do it. I always say, if I can follow in his footsteps, that'll be a great career for me. So, I was blessed with the opportunity to do it. SNL gave me the confidence to do it and here I am."
He adds later, his goal for the ESPYs: "The key is to be memorable, of course, especially in this age with everything going viral."
