With a distinct juxtaposition between the vulnerable vocals and the violent, glitchy instrumental, Che Ecru's "Typical" is anything but. The beat is loud, unwieldy, and nearly abrasive - but for some reason, it works. There are hella elements in play here, including a distorted saw wave, piano chords, and shuffling percussion. You'd think Che's vocals would get lost, but it somehow comes together in the end.

As far as performance, Che's melodic chops shine as he lays down a raw take. You can tell he's singing from the heart, especially as the song climaxes in intensity. It's certainly an experimental cut, so don't be fooled by the title - it's most definitely a misnomer.

Quotable Lyrics

I know I ain't called in a little bit
Things been awesome I'm winnin' shit
Took all day long just to finish it
