There has been a fair amount of outcry from Lloyd Banks fans over the past few weeks claiming that New York's Bobby Shmurda lifted the G-Unit rapper's "Jackpot" instrumental without giving due credit to the original emcee. Now, Shmurda has finally addressed the issue, claiming that Banks never actually bought the production from Jahlil Beats in the first place.

"Really, he never bought the beat," Shmurda said when asked about "Hot Nigga" in an interview with VladTV. "Jahlil called me and told me he never bought the beat and I snatched it up. I guess he never put it out. He put it out but, I don't know. I heard it and I knew it was the one."

"Hot Nigga" has become prophetic single for Shmurda. In the past weeks since the song blew up on YouTube and Vine, the young emcee has signed with Epic Records and saw just about every rapper in the game remix his track. When asked about what artists he particularly looks up to, Shmurda emphasized being partial to New York's sound but still offered props to a select few southern emcees.

"It's hard to categorize," he said. "You got Boosie, you got Jay Z, you got Uncle Murda, you got 50, you got a bunch of people, man, Jadakiss. There's only two or three I mess with out of New York like Boosie, Rick Ross." He also says he was recently in the studio with Uncle Murda working on their new mixtapes.
