Thirteen years after the death of legendary Brooklyn rapper, Notorious B.I.G., Los Angeles police officials are investigating new evidence that might finally close the unsolved case. Christopher Wallace was shot and killed in his car, while leaving a music industry party in Los Angeles on March 9, 1997, but a perpetrator has not been named in the case.

According to CNN, a task force of local and federal law enforcement agencies -- including the Los Angeles Police Department, L.A. County District Attorney's Office and the FBI -- have been pursuing new leads in the rapper's death for the past few months. One law enforcement official told CNN that the case has been "reinvigorated" due to new leads, although they declined to reveal any details.

To date, there have been several suspects in the open-ended case. Fingers have been pointed at former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight along with his former head of security, Reggie Wright Jr., as part of an East Coast vs. West Coast rap feud with late rapper Tupac Shakur. Shakur was gunned down in Las Vegas six months before Biggie's death, and his murder remains unsolved as well.
