Big Boi talks about the difference in workload between recording solo records and working alongside Andre 3000 on Outkast projects, and where he draws his motivation from.

After revealing the tracklist and features and dropping some of the big singles from the upcoming album, Big Boi prepares for Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors to drop on the 11th.  Making the promo rounds, Fat Sax stopped by The Combat Jack Show to chop it up and he talked about the difference between working on solo efforts and working alongside Andre 3000.  He also mentioned where he gets motivation from when working on his own.

Being in the game for a couple decades now, Big Boi says he continues to grow as an artist and talking about this album, his second official solo project, the ATL legend says he is still improving, “Just really just elevation...my skills just get stronger and stronger.”

When asked about the difference between working on a solo project and on an Outkast album, Big Boi mentions the increased workload, and how it is different because he is used to drawing off Andre’s energy when in the studio.  “It’s double workload, me and Dre trade our verses back and forth,” Big Boi adds, “now writing two, three verses a song and trying to get the feeling out...I worked on all the songs at the same time.”

While he doesn’t have Three Stacks in the studio, the Outkast rapper says he has some up and coming rappers and producers come by the Stankonia Studio to help drive him creatively, “I got some young bucks around there...producers and emcees,” mentioning one of the features, “Killer Mike came through.”

Big Boi’s sophomore album, Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors is dropping December 11th.  See the interview in full below.
