Azealia Banks is always one to start controversy, so we're not sure if that's what she is looking to do with the latest quotes from a recent interview with ELLE Magazine. The female rapper received a co-sign from Kanye West early on in her career, and although we're not sure where that co-sign stands nowadays (is she still affiliated with G.O.O.D. Music?) the femcee spoke on the similarities between her and 'Ye.
Azealia starts by calling Kanye a genius, before going on to say that her and 'Ye are like the same person.
"Kanye is a genius," Azealia said while talking to ELLE. "Kanye and I are like the same person but boy and girl. We’re pulling from the same cloud, the same inspiration. We’re both Geminis, we’re the two premier avant gardists in hip hop music. It’s just me and him. I think our consciousnesses are swirling around each other in some weird kind of way…"
She also spoke briefly on her fast rapping method and how she remembers the words. "It’s muscle memory, when you’ve done something over and over and over. When I’m writing stuff that’s really fast, I’ll speed the beat down to maybe 4 or 5 BPM, rap it at a different pace then speed it up," Azealia said.
