As he makes gritty, lyrically-focused boom-bap, Your Old Droog is the type of dude (or rather, droog) who'd you'd expect to ask where all the "real hip-hop" went. Well, on his new track "Porno For Pyros," he's instead asking "what happened to all the good rock?"
With the title referencing Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell's onetime band, the track also crams in a Lollapalooza (the festival Farrell founded) shoutout, as well as references to Sex Pistols, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Jethro Tull, Incubus and Alice In Chains. As a bonus, Droog throws in disses of Coldplay and U2, because who in the hell likes those bands?
