Though many have yet to give up on his original moniker of NBA YoungBoy, the artist currently known as YoungBoy Never Broke Again continues to flourish. Now, a new song from the Baton Rouge talent has surfaced. Given the interpolation of popular Christmas Carol "Jingle Bells," one has to wonder if this was actually recorded during the holiday season. Perhaps YoungBoy simply loves Christmas that much; after all, he is a young boy.
Either way, NBA's "Shining Hard" is a solid, is a little unremarkable offering from one of the game's best up-and-comers. Melodically, it's far from his best, though flashes of peak YoungBoy can be heard throughout. If anything, the instrumental might have benefited from some additional mixing, as the arrangement itself is promising. Perhaps it's simply a personal preference, but Christmas-themed bangers generally tend to be appreciated.
