Young Thug Clears Up Ambiguous Label Status

It's been a bizarre saga as to where Young Thug's affiliations lie. First, he claimed to be a free agent no longer with Atlantic. Then, he inferred that he signed to Cash Money, but then labelhead Birdman quickly denied it. Later, Atlanic phoned Billboard saying Young Thug was still with them and Gucci Mane's subsidiary, Brick Squad

Now, we get to hear from Young Thug himself as Fader caught up with him, prior to his ill performance at the Fader Fort. When asked if he was still with Brick Squad (which would also mean Atlantic records), Young Thug expresses his gratefulness towards Gucci Mane (who founded Brick Squad) but said he was now with "Rich Gang."

He also said he "almost died" hearing Nicki rap over his stuff and said Birdman was "like a real dad" to him. It's nice to hear Young Thug excited about other artists, especially in light of his not-so-nice recent arrest, which he chalked up to typical police harassment.

Of course, Young Thug's still working on that Rich Homie Quan collab, so keep posted. And you can always hear Young Thug speak for himself in the video below.
