UPDATE: Young Nudy's Attorney, W. Scott Smith, has issued a statement. “We believe that Young Nudy is innocent and this is a case of mistaken identity. Young Nudy's legal team is working closely with law enforcement to ensure this case does not get blown out of proportion. Young Nudy is taking these charges very seriously. Had law enforcement contacted us directly we would have voluntarily surrendered, but Young Nudy was arrested shortly after a performance Saturday night.”

Super Bowl Weekend arrived alongside a true bombshell. 21 Savage, who many valued as the game's "most improved player," was taken into ICE custody. Apparently, the rapper is actually a British citizen, who has been illegally residing in the United States for over ten years. While the arrest prompted a flurry of "British" memes, the real-world consequences are potentially more severe. As of now, 21 sits in Georgian custody facing deportation. A surprising turn of events, and one that could be devastating for the young, budding superstar. Yet given the magnitude of his popularity, many were quick to overlook another arrest - 21 Savage's cousin, and rising talent in his own right, Young Nudy.

A report from CBS News claims that Nudy, real name Quantavious Thomas, was actually the federal law enforcement's original target, for reasons unrelated to the immigration probe. Nudy was allegedly pulled over, with 21 Savage and two other men in the car; however, it may very well have been two separate cars, as Nudy associate DJ BJ has claimed. 21's alleged U.K. roots were only revealed when he was entered into the system, prompting ICE to raise an eyebrow.

Dina LaPolt, 21's attorney, claimed that his team was doing their best in clearing the air. "We are working diligently to get [21 Savage] out of detention while we work with authorities to clear up any misunderstanding," she said, following his arrest. Naturally, much of the coverage centers around 21's predicament, leaving Nudy's fate unknown. Hopefully, fans can receive an update on the Nudyland rapper's fate. Like his cousin, Nudy was in the process of upward musical mobility. The rapper earned a spot on our 2019 Artists To Watch, and was an honored guest at the recent Revenge Of The Dreamers 3 sessions.

More details will likely surface shortly. In the meantime, it's a sincere cry of "FREE NUDY."
