Young Dolph was in the middle of a near-death experience yesterday, after news broke that he had been the victim of a shooting in the well-known Hollywood and Highland area. Though the original word out of the crime scene investigation was that Dolph had sustained some extremely serious injuries, doctors are now saying that the rapper will survive the ordeal he just went through. Since then, several members of the hip-hop community have reached out via social media and sent some positive vibes and well wishes to the Memphis native as he begins the recovery process. Perhaps the most notable name among them was his frequent collaborator and Pretty Girls Like Trap Music star 2 Chainz.

The Atlanta rapper, who is currently in the midst of a massive tour, took some time out of his schedule to express his support for Dolph in this difficult time. "Get well soon my boy," read the simple message, accompanied on Chainz's Instagram by a shot of the two rappers posing in what looks like an alleyway. The working relationship between Tity Boy and Dolph goes back several years, with the two linking up for songs like "Pulled Up" and "Trap House Stalkin'." More recently, they both had featured on the Gucci Mane track "Both Eyes Closed," a banger off the 2017 album Droptopwop. They've exhibited some nice chemistry in the studio before, so it's nice to see 2 CHainz reach out to his colleague after such a horrific incident went down.

According to police and witness information from the scene of the crime, Youg Dolph's shooting was apparently the culmination of an argument that had been brewing between his crew and rival rapper Yo Gotti's crew. The two hip-hop personalities were supposedly staying in the same Hollywood hotel when tempers started to flare. “At one point, Young Dolph was knocked to the ground," said an LAPD officer. "And then one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and began shooting at him.” While Yo Gotti is a person of interest for the police investigators at this point, no arrests or other action has taken place as of yet.
