Young Cypher first came on our radars with his 2013 mixtape The Unexpected, which featured production from Ricky Racks. After a hiatus in 2014, he's back this year in a big way. He just dropped his latest EP, Shades of Black, and to celebrate the release, he's given us a free download of a freestyle recorded over Jay Electronica's recent single "Road to Perdition.."
Young Cypher continues with the same uplifting material we got on Shades of Black. Cypher (in a freestyle no less) encourages his people to get behind him and get off this "Road to Perdition." It's a nice change of pace to hear a Southern artist rapping over this NYC instrumental.
