YNW Melly's "Murder On My Mind" track has skyrocketed from No. 59 to No. 14 within a week as curiosity over the track and artist continues to grow. In total, the track has earned an additional 35.3 million on-demand audio streams in the United States, an increase of 132 percent according to Nielsen Music.
In addition, the track moves from No. 41 to No. 3 on the Streaming Songs chart, making it the seventh-biggest gain by any one song in a week on the chart. According to Billboard, the other songs that have topped it are as follows:

In addition, "Murder On My Mind" debuts at No. 15 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales charts after selling the equivalent of 6,000 copies. On the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, it moves 21-7 and 19-7 on Hot Rap Songs.
Fan theories and Internet memes have speculated the track to be a very real-life account of Melly shooting and killing his close friends, YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser, despite the fact that it was released a year before the actual crime was committed. It's a crime for which he has been charged with murdering Juvy and Sakchaser, allegedly staging their deaths to look like a drive-by and reportedly driving around with their dead bodies for hours.
