YNW Melly is one of the most promising voices in hip-hop right now. He's been making some serious waves in the rap game but unfortunately, it appears like more legal troubles have halted his progress towards stardom. According to Sun Sentinel, the rapper was charged in a double murder.

YNW Melly, real name Jamell Demons, has turned himself to Miramar authorities in connection to the deadly shooting of two aspiring rappers in Florida, Anthony Williams, and Christopher Thomas Jr. in October. Melly was also friends with the victims. The two men were taken to Memorial Hospital Miramar at the early hours of the morning on October 26, 2018. Williams and Thomas suffered multiple gun wounds and were later pronounced dead at the hospital. Cortlen Henry was also arrested by police. He's facing premeditated murder charges. Police believe Melly shot and killed the two victims. They said he and Henry staged the crime to make it appear as if the two men were victims of a drive-by shooting. Investigators said Henry's statement didn't match the evidence from the preliminary investigation.

Melly took to Instagram to clarify rumors that he was arrested in Washington but he did tell his fans that he was turning himself in while suggesting that he's been falsely accused.

"a couple months ago I lost my two brothers by violence and now the system want to find justice," he wrote. "unfortunately a lot of rumors and lies are being said but no worries god is with me and my brother @ynw.bortlen and we want y’all to remember it’s a ynw Family."
