It's been nearly four months since XXXTENTACION's passing. Although it took some time, the police ultimately arrested and charged four suspects in the case. Back in August, one of the suspects, Dedrick Williams, asked the court to grant him funds in order to hire a private investigator for the case. The judge has now granted Williams' $10K to hire a P.I. to build his defense in the case.

According to TheBlast, a Florida judge has granted a motion filed Williams' this past summer where he asked for $10K in order to hire a P.I. Williams said that he didn't have the money to hire a private investigator himself, but his lawyer found one who would help build a defense by interviewing and tracking witnesses, doing background checks and more. He begged the court to give him the funds for the investigator, claiming that his due process and right to a fair trial will be threatened without one.

In addition, Dedrick was also granted another $20K in order to hire an electronic evidence expert to look into the cell tower analysis as well as computer and cell phone forensics.

While X's murder case is still ongoing, the rapper was recently honored at the 2018 BET Hip-Hop Awards where he won Best New Artist. The rapper's mother, Cleopatra Bernard, his manager, and his lawyer took the stage to accept the award on his behalf.
