Piper becomes just the 6th WWE legend to be immortalized in bronze.
WWE lays it on heavy in the week-long lead up to Wrestlemania every year with an exhausting list of events and special appearances right up until the Sunday of the promotion's biggest PPV of the year.
Among the biggest pre-Wrestlemania events is the annual Wrestlemania Axxess fan convention, which took place at Brooklyn Pier 1 2on Thursday night. This year's Axxess event was particularly noteworthy, because the WWE unveiled a life-sized statue of the late, great Rowdy Roddy Piper.
As seen in the videos taken at Wrestlemania Axxess, those in attendance included Piper's family and WWE Hall of Famers such as Sting, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart, 2019 WWE Hall of Fame inductee Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, and others.
Only a select few superstars in WWE history have ever been immortalized with their own bronze statue - that exclusive club includes the likes of The Ultimate Warrior, Andre The Giant, Dusty Rhodes, Bruno Sammartino and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair.
Piper's family and some of the aforementioned WWE icons also reflected on Hot Rod's greatness at last night's event.
