Wu-Tang Clan Ex-Manager Shares Hilarious Raekwon Story In "Of Mics & Men" Bonus Scene

Raekwon once ran up the room service bill thinking it was all for free.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Wu-Tang Clan's seminal debut album, Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). They've announced some big plans for the year including the "Gods Of Rap" tour with Public Enemy, DJ Premier, and De La Soul. Additionally, they've announced tour dates across the world.

The group is also at the center of a few television and film pieces which are set to unravel soon. Hulu's currently working on a series based on Wu-Tang Clan but this Friday, the group's Mass Appeal-produced documentary, Of Mics & Men will make its debut on Showtime. In a bonus clip that was released via HipHopDX, former president of Wu-Tang management shared a hilarious story about an early time in Raekwon's career.

John "Mook" Gibbons recalled when Wu-Tang went to a convention for the first time but didn't have a hotel room to stay at. A dude who worked for Polygon helped out the Clan by getting them a hotel room to stay at. However, Rae thought that room service was free in the spot.

"Raekwon don't want to leave the hotel room. I go to the hotel room to check on Rae, this mothafucka got tables of food. I mean, all types of shit," he recalled. "I'm like, 'Yo Rae, what the fuck?' He's like 'Yo, Mook. Shit is free.'"

Unfortunately, Mook had to be the bearer of bad news and told Raekwon that shit wasn't free. The bill ended up coming up to $1000 dollars and once they were pressed about the matter, they simply acted as if they had no idea where the food came from.

Part 1 of Wu-Tang Clan's Of Mics & Men airs this Friday at 9 p.m. EST on Showtime.
