I think it’s safe to say that Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug have emerged as one of the best duos in rap. Granted, they might not be as lyrically enticing as Jay Z and Kanye, but they both exude passion. Prior to their rift, they were untouchable. Their immaculate chemistry wasn’t something to ignore. Whether they were both crooning about stealing your girl and showing love to their homies, they did it with fervor and enthusiasm. They have forged a nice niche in rap as being the go-to party starters. Who can forget about how they had radio on smash last year with “Lifestyle?”

Even though they aren’t on the best of terms, what they created can’t and won’t be forgotten. So for this week’s edition of Who Had the Better Verse, we pit former best friends and collaborators, Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan one-on-one.

Rich Homie Quan – “Bitches” Featuring Young Thug

Who Had The Better Verse: Young Thug Vs. Rich Homie Quan

Unabashed by their shortcomings lyrically, Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug showed out on “Bitches.” Despite the bouncy track having a very rudimentary concept, we all know why we love these two rappers: it’s because they know how to make bangers. With both rappers opting to drop four bar verses, we don’t really get to appreciate their body of work wholeheartedly on this track. Still, both men were able to pack some punch in their very limited verses. “Bitch ass hoes, everything a n*gga say should be quoted / Get between the lines like a Roly Poly,” rapped Thugger. RHQ responded with zeal and charisma on his verse. “MC Hammer can’t touch ‘em / Catch a n*gga sleepin’ in the porta-potty and run up on ‘em then buss ‘em,” he said. “You took her on a date, but I left with this b*tch / Cook it in your face like a chef in this b*tch,” he added later on. RHQ did the damn thing on this one.

Young Thug & Rich Homie Quan – “Tell Em”

You guys might kill me for this one, but I’m gonna go out and say it anyway: Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan are the rap version of KCI and JoJo. That’s right; these boys have a penchant for making bangers for the ladies. Let’s forget about their hard-nosed persona for a second, because they don’t always walk around with their chests out. Sometimes, you gotta do it for the ladies. They know how to poignantly croon at the heart of a female and dish out some of their favorite lines in hopes of staying the night. “Tell Em” exemplified their abilities to woo your favorite girl. “She gon look over these bitches like terms and conditions / I’ma move her out the trenches and buy her a Bentley / I’ma fuck her then hold on to her like she was missin’ / I’m pull on that wavy hair cause it’s Indian Remy,” Young Thug said. Thug’s verse only kept getting better and better. “She say she can do the same thing as five bitches / So I went and fired them five bitches,” I love RHQ, but from his verse to even the hook, Thugger owned this track.

Young Thug & Rich Homie Quan – “Lifestyle”

Who can forget about one of the biggest tracks of 2014? Birdman’s decision to tap Young Thug and RHQ for this single only proved his genius. Thugger penned one of the catchiest and most illegible hooks of 2014. “Million 5 on the Visa card / Hundred Bands still look like the fuckin’ Titans / N*gga servin’ great white like I’m feeding sharks / I won’t do nothing with the b*tch, she can’t even get me hard / Somethin’ wrong with pussy / Even though I ain’t gon’ hit it, I’ma still make sure that she gushy,” he rapped. Thugger kept the momentum going on verse two by finishing strong. “I’m bleedin’ red like a devil, I see these b*tches plotty / they wanna know how I got M’s and I didn’t finish college,” he said. On “Lifestyle,” RHQ paid homage to his family and friends in his verse. “I do it for my daddy, I do it for my mama / Them long nights, I swear to God I do it for the come up / I’m Willie B beating on my chest , in the jungle, aye,” said Quan. Then, RHQ switched up the flow mid-verse and got fancy on us. “Give me a bed and I’ll do her, I want her head, Medusa / I swear a n*gga gone cuz this strong I’m blowin’ super.” Thugger’s energy was undeniable on this track, so it’s only right that we give it to him.

Young Thug – “Ain’t Trippin’” Featuring Rich Homie Quan

Who Had The Better Verse: Young Thug Vs. Rich Homie Quan

“Ain’t Trippin’” is another banger that finds both rapper brushing off all of the frivolous bullshit and remaining positive. “I wanna seal it / These bitches wanna fuck us, we the realest / Like it or not, brain shoot to the ceiling / So many clothes in the closet, she looks like dealer / Ran up my racks with Rich Homie, we’re like the pilgrims,” said Thugger. Despite Thugger’s catchy verse, Rich Homie feasted on the track. “Eating on shrimp, looking down at the shrimps / If you see me with a limp, don’t mistake me for a pimp / The 40 get heavy when you tote it on your hip / Me and Thug ready going in for the kill and I’ma look confused,” said Rich Homie. The sing-songy record is definitely something for you to play when you’re down and out. Trust me on this one. “No shoestrings in these shoes, so I ain’t trippin’” flexed Rich Homie Quan. RHQ gets the well deserved W here.

Rich Homie Quan Featuring Young Thug – “Get TF Out My Face”

Who Had The Better Verse: Young Thug Vs. Rich Homie Quan

“Get TF Out My Face,” came from RHQ’s I Promise I Will Never Stop Going In mixtape. The two Atlanta rappers' chemistry was seamless on this record. Thugger started off the verse with a bang. “I’m the real Tony Montana, I got fifty naked bitches on a banana boat / Your jewelry sunny, Young Thugger need loc’s / My water heavy, I need me a float / He got them birds in the fender bender / Thugger let your bitch suck him up in the rental,” he valiantly rapped. RHQ’s verse was promising and captivating. Because his verse had more substance, he ousted Thug out of the competition. “I’m talking when a n*gga he was hustling / I’m talking about the pork and beans and weenies I was eating every night before the grubbin’ / I’m talking about the little money I was gettin’ before one way before the clubbin’,” he said. Quan dished out some more dopeness when he said, “If it’s off my hip, I’mma pull that motherfucker back like a slingshot / And you ain’t hold your homie down like you supposed to cuz you ain’t never ever heard of a greendot,” he rapped. You gotta love when RHQ raps with pain. RHQ got Thugger on this one.
