After years of anticipation, Playboi Carti has finally released his debut self-titled mixtape. Before the official release, HNHH's Devon Jefferson visited L.A. Live for the official listening party, talking to Carti's biggest fans and delving into what it is about the rapper that has earned him such a loyal fanbase.
Unsurprisingly, many of the attendees are fairly young, and many of them have been listening since the "Broke Boi" days. In the absence of a project, they've been bumping his snippet releases as hard as his song releases. "I know some of his shit that's not even out yet, just off of snippets from YouTube," says one fan. Needless to say, they're excited to hear the project. Now that it's out, did it live up to the hype?
