Last year, news began to circulate detailing a roommate rivalry that is largely unforgettable. Brianna Brochu, a student at the University of Hartford, was embroiled in a longstanding dispute with Chennel Rowe, another undergraduate attending the same college who also happened to share the same living space.

Brochu's distaste for her roommate bordered on maniacal, as she took to social media to boast about the particularly disturbing ways she punished Rowe. One Instagram post clearly outlines Brochu's vile antics, revealing how she "Finally did it yo girl got rid of her roommate!! After 1 1/2 month of spitting in her coconut oil, putting moldy clam dip in her lotions, rubbing used tampons [on] her backpack, putting her toothbrush places where the sun doesn’t shine and so much more I can finally say goodbye Jamaican Barbie."

Brochu labelling Rowe as a "Jamaican Barbie" certainly paints her questionable behaviour with vibrant racist undertones. However, the toothbrush conspirator has been taken to court of her heinous mistreatment of her roommate, but has received a particularly inequitable sentencing. Brochu has been granted probation for her offences, and must perform an additional 200 hours of community service, with 50 of those hours being at a literacy organization, as well as another 50 at a social services group.

If Brochu avoids any other legal drama, her criminal charges will be dismissed after 2 years; although, she is required to never contact Rowe again, and must submit to a mental health evaluation.
