Over the weekend, the world of wrestling received some extremely unfortunate news. Bobby Heenan, professional wrestler and wrestling manager, passed away at the age of 72. The wrestler was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2004 and also managed several other Hall Of Fame wrestlers including Andre The Giant and Ric Flair. Heenan was also considered as one of the greatest wrestling managers of all time by prominent wrestling journalists. While many wrestlers and fans of the sport have since paid their respects to him via social media, Westside Gunn and Conway didn't take long to release a tribute to the late wrestler.
Westside Gunn and Conway come through for their latest release "RIP Bobby." Over production from Daringer and The Alchemist, the two spit over some cloudy production as they continue to provide vivid street narratives. Both rappers spend the first half of the track swapping bars back and forth before the beat switches. Westside Gunn and Conway use a notable voice clip of Heenan to tie the track together as they parallel his feelings about the wrestling industry to the street life they've lived. This is not the first time that the duo have linked up with The Alchemist. Both of them joined Alchemist for his latest single "A Thousand Birds" back in July.
Both Westside Gunn and Conway have been on a pretty solid run this year. Conway has been popping up alongside many prominent names in hip hop and Westside has recently announced that he'll be dropping a collaboration project with MF Doom.
While Griselda Records have been infiltrating underground hip hop, they've recently announced that they'd be embarking on a co-headlining tour alongside the LOX this fall on the "Key To Life" tour. They'll also be joined by fellow Griselda Gang member, Benny. For anyone who's a fan of hip hop, this is definitely a tour you don't want to miss.
