While countless rappers have bragged about their blunt-smoking prowess, few have gone so far as to treat their relationship with weed as a bromance, as Jamaican dancehall star Popcaan does on "Weed is My Best Friend."
The uplifting track is the audible equivalent of aquamarine Caribbean water sparkling in the sunlight, on account of JA Production & Justus' shimmering string & steel drum beat and Popcaan's thick, jolly Jamaican patois, which is about as easy to understand as Young Thug. His voice rings with great conviction, as if weed really is his best friend.
"Weed is My Best Friend" has a chance to be the defining stoner anthem of 2015, though how it holds up under the influence of marijuana remains to be seen.
