Back in April, Star Wars fans were treated to the first trailer for the upcoming film, The Last Jedi, which gave us a sneak peek into Rey and Luke on Ahch-To, the planet which the previous film ended. Since then however, fans have been eagerly waiting for some further insight into the highly anticipated film that’s set to drop right before Christmas, and during the halftime break of Monday night’s Chicago Bears & Minnesota Vikings football game, we got a new trailer.

However it should be noted that if you’re not trying to spoil anything for yourself, the movie’s director says you should probably avoid watching the trailer altogether & “come in clean.”

“I a legitimately torn. If you want to come in clean, absolutely avoid it. But it’s gooooood…..” the director responded to a fan asking about watching the trailer over the weekend.

As for the trailer itself, it focusses on Rey’s training under Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren’s continuing descent towards the dark side. Chewbacca, Princess Leia, Finn and Supreme Leader Snoke all make appearances but the trailer definitely sets up Episode 8 as a war between the Jedi and the Sith, in the form of Rey and Ren respectively.

In addition to the new trailer that was released Monday night, Star Wars also revealed the movie’s official poster earlier in the day as well, which features some of the main characters from the film together, with General Leia, played by the late Carrie Fisher placed front and center while Luke Skywalker looms over them all.

The Last Jedi will serve as the eighth installment in the main Star Wars saga series, following 2015’s The Force Awakens. Look for it to drop December 15th.
