Tonight as Drake accepted his 12th Billboard Music Award of the night, tying singer Adele, with the award for Top Male Artist, he took the time out to dole out some sage advice, complimenting host Vanessa Hudgens' looks, clearing the air with fellow rapper Ludacris, showing love to Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and his own father.
"You know I had a close friend of mine that didn't support my album, but then like supported other people's stuff and I asked him 'Why?' and their response was 'I don't want to look thirsty when you get enough love as it is.'"
"And it made think that you know it's crazy that we're all here on earth, [pauses to laugh], for a limited amount of time and we gotta show love while we're here. So, tonight I want to say Vanessa Hudgens you look incredible tonight."
"I want to say Ludacris I know we haven't always seen eye to eye, but I've always been a big fan of yours. I got a lot of love for you, and I want to let you know that while I'm still face to face with you here.
"I want to say Nicki Minaj, I'm so glad that we found our way back, I love you and I could never ever ever see it any other way. I want to say Lil Wayne if it wasn't for the risks you took, none of us would be here tonight. I want to say my dad got on a purple suit with purple shoes--boy, if you don't stop!.
