"The Wire" wrapped up its final season in 2008, but it is still capturing the hearts and minds of viewers old and new. It's famously long intro, a montage of images from urban life & various city bureaucracies, has now been by re-imagined by an animator named Elliot Lim.
Though "The Wire" was celebrated for its realism, it surely would have benefited from replacing its intro with this crisp, clever, and beautifully animated rework. Lim uses the same "Down in the Hole" backing track as the original. Shit is fire.
