In 2014, few songs have presented the yin and the yang of drug selling more realistically than Wara From The NBHD's "Slangin," taken from his dope project Kidnapped. The second installment of a two-part series that began with "Raw," the video shows Wara and some associates scheming, running from the cops and shooting dice.
In his verses, Wara presents a nuanced portrait of "slangin" life, his voice raising to say, "You think I like crack? You think I like shootin' niggas?" But by the hook, he's back to thinking that "when I'm slangin' drugs, ooh I get that feeling." A dichotomous relationship with the dealing lifestyle that so many of his peers glorify is just one of the things that sets Wara apart from the pack.
