Daniel Ceaser damn near broke the internet after the clip of his Instagram Live went viral. It seems as if everyone wants to weigh in on the controversy, and the singer-songwriter has rubbed quite a few people the wrong way with his recent comments. While grabbing a bite to eat with friends, Caesar, real name Ashton Simmonds, admitted that he was "drunk as f**k." He had a few things he wanted to get off of his chest, so he unleashed his criticisms of black people to his adoring fans watching on Live.
"I don't know which black people are in here but I want you guys to talk up right now," said Caesar. "Why are we being so mean to Julz? Why are we being so mean to white people right now? That's a serious question. Why is it that we're allowed to be disrespectful and rude to everybody else and when anybody else returns any type of energy to us -- that's not equality. I don't wanna be treated like I can't take a joke. I just went through the fucking Chappelle s**t and I had to like, in the moment, acknowledge that I was being f**king sensitive."
The "Julz" reference is about artist YesJulz who has been described, on many occasions, as a "culture vulture." Julz and Joe Budden have had a long-standing, public beef, where she called him a "bum" and insinuated that he only truly has a problem with her because she rejected him. Meanwhile, Caesar called for people to stop antagonizing his dear friend Yes Julz while further recognizing that white people have "been mean" to black people in the past but it's time that the world acts like him and his friends who want to "bridge the gap."
To say Caesar was dragged is an understatement, and it hasn't ended. TMZ caught up with Waka Flocka and Tammy Rivera outside of Rolling Out magazine's Atlanta offices to get their thoughts on the Caesar drama. Waka said that his problem is that the plight, and reality, of injustices against black people in America are often ignored. When the couple found out that Caesar is Canadian, they were done with the conversation because they don't believe Caesar can fully understand what it's like seeing as how he grew up in Ontario.
Waka said, "He said 'get over it'? Yo, make sure you stay the f**k away from me, because we might 'get over' on yo' ass. Don't you ever in your life talk about black people like that. You stupid." Check out their full responses below.
