On his latest release, a mixtape cheekily called I Can't Rap, Vol. 1, Waka Flocka Flame took a few steps back from the ad-lib-drenched, hyper-aggressive, not-very-lyrical style that made him famous, in favor of freestyles that saw him actually attempting to rap "well." While it was nice to see that Waka's not a one trick Muppet, there are still some who crave more of his Flockaveli sound, and his new song "Lay It Down" is the next best thing in 2014.
With production that's a little more circus-y than Lex Luger's definitive Flocka productions, the Trinity-produced "Lay It Down" is certainly a little different than Waka's early material, but the all-out aggression is back in full force.
