The Bodega Hive was understandably upset when Desus & Mero announced their departure from Viceland. For the past few years, they've been staples to the network, but it's clear they were looking for more growth in their career. The duo will be making their debut on Showtime in February. However, the new Vice Media CEO seems to have doubts that the Bronx-duo will thrive over at Showtime.

Speaking to Elle, Vice's new CEO Nancy Dube revealed that the network will be introducing a new two-hour live nightly broadcast to replace the slow that Desus & Mero filled. However, it seems like she doesn't think will be as successful over at Showtime as they were on Vice.

“They’re going to a platform that their audience doesn’t pay for,” Dube said. “I told them, ‘You can always come back.'"

Desus & Mero both faced a bit of backlash because people thought the switch to Showtime would mean its inaccessible, but the duo assured fans that won't be the case.

“You don’t have to have a Showtime login to watch what we’re gonna put out, ” Desus said to Bossip earlier this year. “Bodega Hive is something very personal to us…we cannot just sh*t on this f**king fanbase."

Desus & Mero's new late-night talk show on Showtime is set to premiere on February 21st, 2019. Keep your eyes peeled.
