Vic Mensa's INNANETAPE really helped put the Chicago rapper on the map, and propel him into mainstream fame. Fame which now includes collaborating with Kanye West on his highly anticipated new album ("Wolves"). Before Vic truly popped off though, he was still making dope music, little did you know. Today producers Blended Babies have taken to their Soundcloud to unearth a gem Vic Mensa recorded with them in Los Angeles, which they say is pre 2013's INNANETAPE.

"Shakedown '99" is a mellow record, with Vic's crooning vocals layered over distorted guitar strings.

If you missed Vic's recent appearance alongside Kanye on the SNL 40th anniversary show, watch that performance here.

Quotable Lyrics

We could go for a day ride in the daylight
Been a minute, and I know I been away
But I been thinking of you
And I don't know if the day will come
When I fall, but I hope it's for you
