Veronica Mars' cult following continues to resurrect the show from the dead. The series was met with critical acclaim when it debuted in 2004 on UPN. The first two seasons aired on UPN before the station was shut down and merged with The WB to create The CW. Veronica Mars' third season aired on CW, but it was canceled after just one season on the new network.

Show creator Rob Thomas and star Kristen Bell used Kickstarted to raise over $5 million to launch a continuation of the story. They used the money to launch a film, which received mix reviews. Now, four years after the film's release, Thomas and Bell are attempting to revive the show again. According to The Hollywood Reporterboth Bell and Thomas are connected to a possible revival being developed by Hulu.

The deal has not been finalized, so the details are scarce. The show is planned as a limited run, possibly a one-off, and no other returning characters have been confirmed. Bell currently stars in NBC comedy The Good Place, but filming for the speculated Veronica Mars revival will not interfere with that venture. The streaming companies in the lead right now (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon) will continue to look for shows they can reboot, so expect more Fuller House-esque revivals coming soon.
