TJ Dillashaw defended his bantamweight strap in emphatic fashion at UFC 227. As reported, Dillashaw chose a cool and collected approach which offset his competitor who came out buzzing like a decade old fridge. Inevitably, the frenetic pacing proved tragic for challenger Cody Gardbrandt who fell victim to a flurry of decisive shots in the opening round.

TJ Dillashaw's moderate approach in the fight, has given boxers and MMA fighters alike, a false hope they can topple the bantamweight champ. One particular boxer who likens himself a worthy suitor is Gervonta Davis, the two-time super featherweight world champion mentored by Floyd Mayweather and his promotional stable.

The above Tweet does connote some level of casual indifference from Gervonta but I think TJ Dillashaw interpreted it differently, perhaps as a lack of courtesy, or worse: a laughable offense. To the suggestion Gervonta Davis is ready to jump ship and try his hand at MMA, Dillashaw says "Bring It."

Although Gervonta seems like a man of his word, his handlers might object to him squandering a chance to clean out the super featherweight division in boxing with Vasyl Lomachenko moving on up in weight. Any way you seize it up, whether it's under Marcus of Queensbury rules or not, a duel between world champs in their respective fields, is going to sell like hoe cakes.

Line 'em up Mr. White.
