The Fast & Furious franchise has become a cinema staple since the turn of the century, bringing in billions of dollars for their studio, Universal, and built a loyal fan base out of a premise that, upon first inspection, didn't seem capable of producing eight separate installments, with more on the way in the coming years. However, not all is sunny when it comes to the individual cast members, as those who follow Tyrese's Instagram account found out yesterday (September 12th). In a post that has since been deleted, the R&B singer/actor called out Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for the fact that he's rumored to be the star of a series spin-off centered on his character, federal investigator Hobbs.

"I want you to shoot it just not right now," Tyrese wrote in his lengthy Instagram rant. "Didn't you see how huge #Fast8 was? It's because we announced and kept our release date bro...I never ever go public with private family issues. Once you go back I will delete every post...I'm doing this for the #FastFamily I'm loyal and I apologize for being loyal but damnit I am." The content of his post comes across as at least slightly hypocritical, with his statement about how he "never" goes public with private matters sounding hollow and kind of disingenuous. If he and the Rock were really that close, wouldn't it be possible to settle something like this behind closed doors? Apparently, that's not how Tyrese felt.

This wasn't the first time Tyrese felt the need to speak his mind on this matter either. He had posted a separate comment claiming that his text answers to the multi-million dollar movie star were going unanswered. If that's the case, it seems unlikely that this long social media diatribe will make the situation between the two men any better. I don't think The Rock has picked up the phone as of this writing though, with Tyrese having posted a follow-up message, imploring Johnson to get in touch with him. Whether it's jealousy or something else, Tyrese may end up getting the cold shoulder in a very public way from one of the world's most recognizable stars.
