Released before Odd Future's Radical tape, Tyler, The Creator's Bastard was the project that really put the crew on the map. A disturbed, often jarring listen mostly focused on Tyler's relationship with his dad, the tape paved the way for his career, which is looking more impressive than ever after the announcement of his new album, Cherry Bomb.

A rare subdued, sublime moment on the raw, gritty Bastard, "VCR" offered the first taste of the airy sound that Tyler later honed on "AU79," before the track's second half, "Wheels," threw us right back into the chaos of the rest of the tape. Always a fan of the curveball, Tyler's career has only gotten weirder as its gone on, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Quotable Lyrics

Ready to watch? I'ma slip it in the tape deck
But put it in slow-mo, I don't want to bust the tape yet, press play
Now this is what I call an evening
A live show, almost equivalent to the screening
Your dream movie? I'm the clearest copy
Now time for Blow, I'm Johnny deep with the rarest poppy
Snort a little, now you're getting groovy
Cause I'll kill if I find out you're watching some other movies, bitch
