Just as he did 2015's Free TC, Ty Dolla $ign has provided an over-achieving deluxe edition for his latest project Beach House 3. "South Beach" is the one that captures the Beach House theme the best, as Ty offers "Got a place I could take you to / South Beach, Cancun," on the slippery hook. While features can sometimes unnecessarily crowd Ty albums, Quavo and French both make the most of their placements, with all three vocalists finding the center of their venn diagram as they opt for auto-tuned croons that act as handoffs clean enough that you sometimes don't realize when possession has changed. The real MVPs here might be the producers though, whose crisp, unconventional drum programming really take the track to another level. With Charlie Heat, BNYX, and Hitmaka credited, it's hard to know who's doing what, but Hitmaka is definitely proving himself as Ty's right-hand man, co-producing all six of the new tracks, as well as working extensively on the forthcoming MihTy album, a full-length collaboration between Ty Dolla $ign and Jeremih that can't arrive soon enough. Listen to the now 26-track version of Beach House 3. At this point, there's no excuse not to have checked it out yet.
