"The Light" drops this Friday.
The lyrical rundown of "The Light" has been leaked to Genius, but anyone claiming to have heard any of the projected Ty Dolla X Jeremih joint is simply lying through their teeth. "The Light" has been announced by Ty Dolla $ign himself as the lead single for MihTy expected any time now. The lead single seeing light this Friday is produced by Hitmaka, as is the rest of MihTy from top to bottom. Hitmaka is predominantly known for his production style that places the emphasis on feelings of seduction paired with rigid basslines. You may remember him from such R&B/Rap blammers such as "Ex," "Pineapple," "1942" and Big Sean's "Bounce Back."
The preview posted by Ty Dolla on his Instagram gives us a glimpse at the pre-chorus/song intro. The singing part is evidently performed by Ty Dolla $ign and the adjoining ad-libs by Jeremih, although the latter takes on a greater role later in the song, as evidenced "inconclusively" by the Genius lyrics page. Notice the sample clearance for Keni Burke's jazzfunk classic "Risin' to the Top."
"Lets have sex, but not without the foreplay (okay cool)
But not without the first date (okay cool)
But not before I have to wonder if you let me hit if I walk you to the door way
Lets have sex, but not without the sprees babe (okay cool)
Not without the vacays, nooooo"
