See what Twitter had to say about the Jets beating the Bills at home on Thursday Night Football.
It was only a matter of time before our string of really good Thursday night football games came to an end, and that happened last night when the Buffalo Bills took on the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. While both teams seemed to have out kicked their expectations going into the season, their matchup in week 8 was kinda of a dud, and the Jets crushed the Bills to a final of 34-21, even though the game wasnt even as close the score kinda makes it. At one point in the 4th quarter, the Jets were winning 34-7, before the Bills scored a couple late garbage touchdowns to pat the stats.
The Jets took control of the game thanks to their ground game, owning the Bills’ front line. Both running backs Matt Forte and Bilal Powell combined for two touchdowns and 151 yards, while QB Josh McCown was good enough to not turn the ball and throw for one touchdown.
The big fantasy implication from Thursday night had to be Bills QB Tyrod Taylor though, who threw for 285 yards and 2 touchdowns in the air, while managing to rush for another 35 yards and 1 rushing TD as well. LeSean McCory was held in check and only gained 25 yards on 13 carries.
The big news coming into the week was WR Kelvin Benjamin, who was traded to Buffalo from Carolina earlier in the week. However, since the trade went down a couple days, Kelvin was unable to learn the playbook and dress last night.
While unfortunately the game didn't end in the most thrilling fashion like we’ve been accustomed to over the past couple weeks, that didn’t stop twitter from voicing their opinion on the game. We rounded up some of the night's best highlights & tweets from the game, which can see for yourself (below).
