Saturday night marked the first time that Michigan and Notre Dame would face off since 2014. In repeating history, the Wolverines would fall to the Fighting Irish 24-17. Ultimately, it was a weak defense that cost the Wolverines the match with Notre Dame scoring a touchdown on three of its first four drives in the game. But, the presence of great inconcsistencies made it so those would be the only touchdowns made by the Irish Saturday.

By the end of the first half, Notre Dame scored 21 points and clocked 233 yards of offense, but by the second half, the team was bogged down only putting up 3 more points and 69 yards. As for Michigan, a slow start of 10 points and 90 yards of offense was met with 217 yards in the second half. Despite the lack of congruency on both sides, it still wasn't enough for Michigan to prevail victorious.

This now ups the tally of Michigan's losses to ranked teams on the road. The Wolverine now stand at 0-17 against top-25 teams. The last time they were on the winning side of such statistics was when they beat a No. 2 Notre Dame in 2006.

Naturally, Twitter had much to say about the loss and brought Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh into the equation. Check out highlights from the social network below.
