21 has been an important number in music these days. 21 Savage has been the fastest-rising rapper of this year, and over in the "alt" world, the Twenty One Pilots have been all the rage. The Columbus duo recently won two awards at the AMAs, including "Favorite Artist - Alternative Rock." The Pilots have also earned a fan in legendary hip-hop producer DJ Premiere (who hasn't yet revealed any intention of working with 21 Savage). Premo recently bought Twenty One Pilots' latest album, the platinum-selling Blurryface -- released in May 2015, and he liked it so much that he decided to remix the track "Lane Boy."
"I saw the 'Lane Boy' video and loved the concept of the song and video," Premo told Complex upon the premier of his remix. "It’s about refuting the idea that artists should stay in a 'lane,' or be defined by a particular style or sound. 'Lane Boy' is the song I wanted to remix. They sent me the stems and said to rock out with it. The Preemix is now official."
They say, "Stay in your lane, boy, lane boy,"
But we go where we want to
They think this thing is a highway, highway
But will they be alive tomorrow?
