Def Jam are preparing themselves for a very big year, as they celebrate their 30-year anniversary. They've already kicked things off by unveiling a maze-inspired Def Jam 30 logo, and now Trinidad James has decided to pay tribute to his label founded by Russell Simmons & Rick Rubin, with a new release titled "Def Jam."

This record appears on the new DJ compilation F.Y.M. 10 which is out now. The Atlanta native spits about how he was able to get a deal ("being a real nigga got me a deal") with the renowned label over dark production. Download the track below.

Quotable Lyrics

"I did not beg for this fame, I was chose / I can act different with all of my flows / Thugnificent in the flesh and the soul / I was that nigga that folded them clothes / Now I'm the nigga that's rockin' them shows / You think you know me but you do not know"
