Where TF has Trey Songz been? He went quiet after November's To Whom It May Concern mixtape, which found him channeling a tougher, club-ready sound. Well, he's likely been working on new material, as today, he's dropped off a finely polished party-starter titled "All I Had." The song happens to be a remix of Belly and The Weeknd's "Might Not." Damn, Trigga man. His strengths may lie in the bedroom, but "All I Had" is a set-reppin' anthem that proves he can easily veer into street territory, where much of the most trendy R&B lies these days.

What's most impressive is how Trey makes the transition without sacrificing his acute sense of melody, showing his dramatic range throughout the track without ever stepping out of key. Sensitive vocals, ruthless delivery. Hopefully "All I Had" signals that Trey has a new body of work with which he's planning on taking over the summer.

Quotable Lyrics

Yeah you know they chose me
And I brought the homies
Guns right behind me, just like my name's Shaka
Turn into an OG, smokin' on the same thing
Shout the mic, age, pussy, money never changed me
