August marked the arrival of Translee’s Freedom Summer EP, a 9-track offering that stands tall in affirming Translee’s future as a fresh voice via the Grand Hustle imprint. One of the project standouts was the T.I.-assisted “Catch this Wave” single which practically sums up the power of the EP as Lee and his mentor spar off on lyrics outlining black excellence in the face of adverse conditions.
In the new clip that accompanies the video, users are treated to an intro that flips the iconic “Soul Glo” commercials from Eddie Murphy’s Coming To America film and instead promoted du-rags encouraging viewers to “Catch This Wave” before Translee and T.I. take on the roles of royalty sporting digs similar what Murphy’s own cast wore in the film, Kente accents and all.
