Continuing where his Another 48 Hours left off, Trae Tha Truth has come forth with another chapter, dubbed 48 Hours Later. With a title evocative of cult classic film 28 Days Later, it's almost appropriate that Trae's latest drop feels darker than his usual aesthetic; the tonal shift is most evident in the consistency of the production, which imbues Trae's OG gravitas an added sense of severity.

Trae Tha Truth continues to slide over ominous instrumentals with an effortless swagger, flowing with a dexterity his baritone voice might not initially suggest. Though one might be inclined to write this off as yet another collection of hard-hitting bangers, the project is far more atmospheric than initially expected.

Employing moody, synth-driven, and relatively haunting production, Trae's latest contribution to the 48 Hours series feels uniquely nocturnal. It's a testament to Trae's oft-underappreciated versatility, and should be a pleasure for anyone seeking a cohesive vibe.
