According to new reports from US Weekly, Tom Cruise is fully capable and allowed to see his 12-year-old daughter but chooses not to because she is not apart of the church of Scientology. “Every person is allowed to see their child if they wanted to,” a source told the publication. “He chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist.”
The "Top Gun" actor hasn't been photographed with Suri since 2013 and a former editor-in-chief of The Village Voice (and a critic of Scientology) Tony Ortega tells the publication that mother Katie Holmes probably signed “some nondisclosure agreement saying she wouldn’t say anything bad about Scientology” so she had full custody of their daughter. “She wanted to get away and she wanted to get Suri,” Tony added.
While Tom remains low key in the media, Katie has been dating Jamie Foxx for close to five years now and the couple have been more and more public with their romance. “Katie and Jamie care about each other a lot and they tried to stay as quiet as possible because they didn’t want to ruin that. They knew the second they stepped out together, it would open the gates for criticism," another source revealed.
