Tom Brady is one of the best football players of all-time and with six Super Bowl championships to his name, you can make the case that he really is the best ever. Having said that, it's curious that he is actually the 18th highest paid quarterback in the league and is only set to make $15 million next season. This is fairly low compared to Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks who recently signed a contract worth $140 million over the next four seasons.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Brady was asked about his salary and gave a pretty reasonable explanation as to why he makes a comparatively low amount of money.

"I'm a little smarter than you think. Actually, it's a salary cap," Brady explained. "You can only spend so much and the more that one guy gets is less for others. And, for a competitive advantage standpoint, I like to get a lot of good players around me."

Brady also gave a shoutout to his wife Gisele Bundchen who is also pretty rich thanks to her lucrative modeling career.

"I think the thing I've always felt for me in my life, winning has been a priority. And, my wife [Gisele] makes a lot of money," Brady gushed.

Either way, the Patriots quarterback won't be going broke anytime soon.
