In 2017, the film Girls Trip became the unlikely ensemble hit of the year, taking a funny script and four game actresses and turning it into one of the best comedies to hit theaters in the past few years. The cast's breakout star is undoubtedly Tiffany Haddish, who has already wowed with her star potential and is in the midst of kicking off what is sure to be a long and prosperous career in the movie business. On top of that, based on her victory at the recent New York Film Critic's Circle dinner, she's also the best thing about awards season so far.

In a Facebook video shared by Allison Willmore, the actress/comedian treated those in attendance to a nearly 18-minute long acceptance speech that shifted between seriousness and hilarity more than a few times. She kicked things off with a shout-out to the Man Upstairs, saying: “I want to thank God. Without God, my mommy and daddy wouldn’t have put their two uglies together and made me. Because that was all God right there. He put two crazy people together to make one awesome crazy person.”

She also proceeded to thank film critics - "You care enough to say something. If you didn’t say nothing, then you didn’t care" - as well as her childhood best friend, Selena. "I’ve known you since we was 12 years old. I walked up to you and was like, You gonna be my friend. And you was like, What? But you’re still my friend. And she ain’t never tried to kick me to the curb or nothing [...] I appreciate you for that.”

Perhaps most notably, she spent at least five minutes comparing herself to a the statue of a Hindu goddess that was sitting behind her. “When I look at her I feel like I’m looking at myself. She taking a nap but she doing a lot of stuff.” Bless you, Tiffany Haddish.
