Phil Knight helped co-found Nike which is, of course, the biggest brand in both sneakers and sportswear. Knight's influence with Nike is so strong that he was even inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. There is no denying just how important Knight is to the world of sportswear and where he stands among some of the greats. Knight's memoir "Shoe Dog" was all about his life and how helped turn Nike into the empire it is today. It is now a best-selling book that will reportedly help inspire three new colorways of the Nike Cortez '72.

This latest information comes courtesy of @pyleaks, who claims that there are three colorways that will be coming out in July of 2019 and that the release will come in QuickStrike form. There are no images or Photoshop mockups of what these kicks will actually look like but one of the colorways has been listed as "White/Varsity Red/Game Royal." The reported price is $120 USD.

One interesting thing to note here is that Knight's book is also being turned into a Netflix documentary, although there is no exact release date for that either. With both the shoes and the documentary on the way, there is a chance that both could be tied in together.
