The Weeknd spent the majority of last week keeping fans on the edge of their seats when he began to hint at new music on the horizon. Most people thought he'd deliver the first single off his project at the end of last week. Instead, he came through with six brand new songs in the form of his latest EP, My Dear Melancholy,. After only a few days since its release, it's already made a major mark on Spotify.

The Weeknd's intro to My Dear Melancholy, "Call Out My Name" is the largest debut on Spotify of 2018. The project's intro landed nearly 3.5 million streams within the first 24 hours of its release. The interesting part about it is that he gave a little less than a 24 hour notice until the project dropped and kept the project itself under wraps for the most part.

The Weeknd's latest project is just a small portion of what he has in store for 2018. The singer just dropped off a new collection of his XO merch line and is also slated to headline Coachella this month. In addition, the singer's also getting ready to launch his debut "Starboy" comic book with Marvel. The singer initially confirmed this was happening last year but last week, he revealed more details pertaining to it and revealed that it should be on shelves on June 13th.
